Façades are increasingly important as an environmental moderator and are fundamental to the design of a building. They present the opportunity to incorporate energy-generating technologies as well as providing an excellent environment for people to work in.

Working with building owners, architects and main and specialist contractors Waldeck’s team of specialists works closely with cladding manufacturers to develop innovative products for façades on new builds and refurbishments

Waldeck recognises a façade is an important consideration for any project and provides impartial advice to owners and managers to help them to manage the technical, commercial and programme risks associated with façade and roof elements from the design and procurement through to the construction processes.

Our façade engineers are aware of the technological, contractual and commercial risks, and advise on the best way of mitigating these, whilst securing the benefits from new regulations governing energy use and environmental sustainability which are a major driver for technological innovation, bringing huge benefits.

Our specialist detailing team has also worked on many of the UK’s prestigious facades that have been panelised using precast concrete faced in stone, reconstituted stone, brick or GRC.

On the retained façades, our knowledge of the built envelope as a subject matter, coupled with our expertise as temporary works designers, enables us to also undertake the regular structural engineering duties without the client having to go to three specialists to achieve a similar result. This  leads to efficiencies in the whole solution and a quicker result because of communications.
