Much of client procurement on major projects in recent years has moved towards ‘design and build’ contracts which, through the novation process, often imposes both design and engineer on contractors. This can sometimes restrict their options, ability and ingenuity to find alternative and more appropriate ways forward. We help contractors undertake alternative design assessments at tender stage. We provide technical expertise to audit documents and, wherever viable, assist in developing another design solution which can be submitted as an alternative bid alongside the compliant submission.
