African Centre, Nottingham

As part of our on-going commitment to our work with Business in the Community (Nottingham ProHelp), our Nottingham office completed a structural condition survey for a property being considered by Nottingham African Centre. This was part of their relocation from their current leased operations base, to their own premises and they needed to be confident of the general condition of the building and any opportunities for improvement.

The Nottingham African Centre are aiming to provide hot meals in a cafe / restaurant and IT training as well as other social and educational activities to empower, support and assist individuals, including Asylum Seekers, Migrant Workers and Refugees living in Nottinghamshire to develop their skills and improve the values that are needed to integrate into the wider community.

The survey identified that the former garage / workshop premises was in a condition that would allow the African Centre to relocate to without the requirement for structural modifications, other than to make the property more habitable and fit for purpose.

The space also provides the end client with opportunity to improve, renovate and expand into the centre, without a major initial financial outlay.
