Consulting engineering firm Waldeck’s new office at Europarc Innovation Centre in Grimsby is now officially open for business.

Economic Development Officer for Greater Grimsby Kate Walker helped celebrate the opening of the new office on Thursday (21st April) and said she hoped their new venture would be great success.

“I’m pleased Waldeck has chosen to launch its new operation in North-East Lincolnshire at the Europarc Innovation Centre as that’s exactly what we have developed it for,” she explained. “I’m sure this will be the first step on the road to success in this area and a profitable expansion for Waldeck.”

This latest addition brings the total number of office locations to eight and follows the relocation of Waldeck’s Sheffield office to larger premises earlier this month and the launch of its new Mechanical & Electrical Department based at the company’s headquarters in Sleaford.

Waldeck is one of the fastest growing consulting engineering firms in the UK and is working on some major projects including a multi-million pound scheme to restore Blackfriars railway bridge in London and a £210 million Ocado distribution centre in Dordon, North Warwickshire.

The Grimsby operation will be headed up by Waldeck’s Head of Core Engineering North Andrew Daughtrey supported by recently appointed Business Development Consultant Peter Everett.
Peter has over 40 years’ experience in the construction industry and allied sectors in the region and was formerly the chairman of the Hull and Humber Chamber of Commerce for North East Lincolnshire.

Waldeck has also employed Ian Mackenzie from local company Ragged Edge Consulting to identify commercial opportunities and assist with the necessary staff recruitment.

Managing Director Paul Waldeck said: “We are keen to forge good relationships with new and existing clients in North-East Lincolnshire and the Humber and opening a local office will help us to work more closely on the ground with businesses in the area.

“We already have an established office in Hull but felt it was important to also be in the south of the region, particularly when it comes to working with clients in the ports and logistics, renewable energy and petrochemical sectors.

“Our plan for the Grimsby office is to create more jobs, help stimulate the economy and support the local community through schemes like ProHelp which is a national network of over 600 professional firms who offer free advice and support to local community groups and voluntary organisations.”

Waldeck is proud to be a member of ProHelp and has already worked with several charitable and not-for-profit organisations in Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire and Northamptonshire on a pro bono basis.
