Waldeck Looks to Broaden Horizons

Posted on March 24th, 2010 by admin

A firm of consulting engineers is looking to broaden its horizons overseas after a successful visit to Ecobuild 2010, the world’s biggest event for sustainable design, construction and the built environment.

Multidisciplinary consulting engineers Waldeck returned from the three-day exhibition with over 100 potential leads from companies as far afield as China, Australia, Lithuania, France and Romania.

Business Development Manager Sue Wright said the unprecedented level of interest shown at the exhibition gives Waldeck access to a previously untapped overseas market.

“This was the first time we have exhibited at Ecobuild and we were really pleased with the interest shown in our services,” said Sue.

“We attracted enquiries from developers, architects, consultants, local authorities and environmental businesses to our stand, all of which were looking for sustainable design services in the UK.”

Waldeck was one of just a handful of engineering consultants exhibiting at Ecobuild 2010, which was attended by around 1,000 companies which manufacture or supply environmentally responsible building products.

The event attracted more than 41,000 people from all over the world.

“We have over 50 staff, a number of whom specialise in sustainable design, so we are already well established in the construction industry as a creative force in sustainability,” said Managing Director Paul Waldeck.

“We were delighted to be able to show both UK and international companies what we’re capable of, and we were proud to represent the county at an international level.”

Ecobuild 2010 was also an opportunity for Waldeck to show off its new corporate identity. The firm has rebranded and now has a redesigned website and a new range of brochures and leaflets.

“We feel the future is bright for the Company, despite the economic downturn affecting the construction industry,” said Paul. “The interest we experienced at Ecobuild has shown us that we have every reason to be confident about the years ahead.”
